Brian Dumoulin, Casey DeSmith absent from Penguins’ practice

Penguins defenseman Brian Dumoulin and goaltender Casey DeSmith were absent from practice in Cranberry on Monday. Coach Mike Sullivan indicated Dumoulin’s absence was a “maintenance day. Dumoulin appeared to be laboring in the late stages of Sunday’s 4-3 overtime home loss to the New York Islanders after being struck on his right foot by a shot from Islanders defenseman Ryan Pulock at approximately 6:40 of the third period.
