His third season at Troy saw his highest overall win total, finishing 11-2 overall and 7-1 in conference play.

West Virginia senior golfer Mark Goetz was named to the Division I PING All-Midwest Region Team. Goetz is the second player in school history named to the PING All-Midwest Region Team. Matthew Sharpstene earned those same honors in 2019.

McCabe breaks program record at East Prelims

On Saturday at the 2021 NCAA East Preliminary Round, redshirt freshman Ceili McCabe of the West Virginia University track and field team finished in third place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a school program record time of 9:51.81. She will move on to compete at the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Championships from June 9th-12th.

While Mountaineers fell short, Watters proved his worth against Texas

Although West Virginia fell short with a season-ending 3-2 loss, the results for reliever Jacob Watters were mostly positive. The right-handed sophomore held the Longhorns to one run without surrendering a hit, while striking out eight.

Manoah dazzles in debut, shuts down Yankees

Former West Virginia pitcher Alek Manoah dazzled in his Major League Baseball debut at Yankee Stadium. Manoah, a 2019 first-round draft pick, tossed six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts and two hits allowed to lead the Toronto Blue Jays to a 2-0 victory over the New York Yankees.

Four Big 12 programs were selected to compete in the 2021 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship. One-seed Texas will host the Austin Regional, one-seed TCU will host the Fort Worth Regional, one-seed Texas Tech will host the Lubbock Regional, and two-seed Oklahoma State will travel to the Tuscon Regional.
