Noel Devine Highlights 7-Member 2021 Hall of Fame Class

This morning in front of a small gathering of friends and family, the West Virginia Mountaineers inducted seven new members into their Sports Hall of Fame, highlighted by former running back Noel Devine.

Devine was a three-year starter for the Mountaineers and totaled at least 1,000 all-purpose yards every year during his career. He currently ranks as WVU’s career all-purpose yardage leader with 5,761 yards and is third in WVU’s rushing chart with 4,315 yards. He finished his career the number four career rusher in the Big East. He finished his career with 29 rushing touchdowns and scored 186 points in his career.

Devine was a human highlight reel as a high school player and during his time with the Mountaineers. He finished with 19 career 100-yard game and 12 times in his career broke off a 50-yard run. He also had 28 runs over 30 yards. Devine had a coming out party of sorts against the Oklahoma Sooners in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl and he continued his big game performance against the Florida State Seminoles when he rushed for 168 yards on 16 carriers in the Gator Bowl.

Other inductees this year were Keri Bland, an All-American in cross country and track and field. Bland helped the Mountaineers win their first Big East tile in cross country in 2007. Nicco Campriani, a national champion and four time All-American in both air-rifle and small-bore shooting. Nico lead the rifle team to a championship in 2011 before going on to earn three gold medals and a silver medal across two Olympics, making him the most accomplished shooter in Olympic history.

The late Dale Farley was a three-year linebacker from 1968-1970 who was drafted in 1971 by the Miami Dolphins. Farley was part of a defense in 1969 that finished 12th best in the country and held four opponents to a touchdown or less. Mike Fox, an outstanding defensive tackle from 1986-1990 who earned MVP honors in the 1989 Gator Bowl before going on to be drafted by the New York Giants. Fox was part of the Super Bowl XXV team that beat the Buffalo Bills.

Lajuanda Moody, a gymnast from Bridgeport Connecticut was the first WVU gymnast to qualify for the NCAA Championships as an idividual on three occasions and was the first gymnast in WVU history to record a perfect 10.0 on a floor exercise. Olyinka Sanni, an outstanding basketball player from 2005-2008 played 129 games in her career and finished with over 1600 points. She would be drafted by the Detroit Shock in 2008 and win the WNBA Championship her rookie season.
