Penguins’ Evgeni Malkin Undergoes Surgery on Knee Injury; Unlikely for Training Camp

Following their elimination from the playoffs to the New York Islanders, the Pittsburgh Penguins announced star forward Evgeni Malkin underwent successful knee surgery and is unlikely to be ready for the start of training camp. The 34-year-old injured his right knee on March 16 against the Boston Bruins and did not return until May 3 for the final four games of the regular season.
