Penguins Unveil New Alternate Jerseys

The Pens pay homage to the past with the new jerseys, which they will wear occasionally for the next three seasons.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Penguins have gone retro for their new third jersey that will be worn for 12 home games this season starting Dec. 11.

The primarily black throwback jersey will feature the yellow diagonal "PITTSBURGH" text centered on the chest and includes the skating Penguin sans the traditional triangle on each shoulder. The nod to the Penguins road jerseys worn in the 1990s will make their return on home
ice for the first time nearly 30 years later.

The newly-designed jersey was made famous in the mid 90s by Penguins' greats Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr on ice, and rapper Snoop Dogg off the ice.
