Pens Points: What An Incredible Loss

The Pittsburgh Penguins and New York Islanders clashed once again at PPG Paints Arena last night, as both teams looked to win their third game out of four needed to advance to the second round. The Penguins played a solid game. They put 50 shots on Isles goalie Ilya Sorokin, with the Russian rookie making 48 saves. But this game will forever be remembered for an all-time horrendous gaffe from Tristan Jarry in double overtime. [Recap]

Speaking of super Sorokin, the 25-year-old is the latest netminder to have the Penguins’ number in the postseason. [Trib Live]

Goaltender Casey DeSmith is still on the mend. He once again missed yesterday’s morning skate and did not dress for last night’s contest. [Trib Live]
