Perez, Hobby lead No. 2 NC State women over Pittsburgh 89-54

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Raina Perez and Camille Hobby scored 15 points each to lead No. 2 North Carolina State over Pittsburgh 89-54 Friday night in the ACC opener for both teams.

Perez made three 3-pointers, and banked in a shot from just beyond midcourt to make it 22-10 at the end of the first quarter.

NC State (9-1) has won nine straight since opening the season with a loss to top-ranked South Carolina.

Diamond Johnson scored 10 points for the Wolfpack. Elissa Cunane finished with nine points and 12 rebounds.

Jayla Everett scored 13 points and Destiny Strother added 10 for Pitt (8-3), which had won three in a row.

OKLAHOMA 99, NO. 16 BYU 91, OT

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Madi Williams had 25 points and 14 rebounds as Oklahoma overcame Tegan Graham's long-range shooting to beat No. 16 BYU.

Graham scored 30 points, hitting a school-record 10 3s on 17 tries for BYU (8-1).

Oklahoma (9-1) closed on an 11-0 run.

Taylor Robertson added 23 points to help first-year Oklahoma coach Jennie Baranczyk reach 200 wins in just her 10th season as a head coach, following a nine-year stint at Drake.

NO. 23 OREGON STATE 72, MONMOUTH 58

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (AP) — Talia von Oelhoffen had 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists as No. 23 Oregon State beat Monmouth.

Von Oelhoffen had 12 points, five rebounds and four assists in the first half to help Oregon State (5-2) take a 41-22 lead at halftime.

Jen Louro scored 15 points for Monmouth (4-4).

It was Oregon State’s first game in New Jersey since facing Seton Hall in 1997. Monmouth hadn’t hosted a ranked opponent since the 2005-06 season.
