Athlon Sports Names Ten Mountaineers to Preseason All-Big12 Team

Preseason teams are coming out and the West Virginia Mountaineers placed ten different players on the Athlon Sports All Big-12 teams. Running back Leddie Brown was named to the second team offense while Dante Stills, Alonzo Addae and Akheem Mesidor were all named to the second team defensive team.

Leddie Brown was a first team selection last year and in ten games rushed for over 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns. He proved to be a versatile threat adding 31 receptions and over 200 yards in the air and another two touchdowns. Dante Stills led the team in tackles for loss (10.5) and Mesidor led the team in sacks (5). Addae finished the year with the team lead in interceptions (2) and second on the team in tackles (66).

Winston Wright Jr, Zach Frazier, Doug Nester and Josh Chandler-Semedo appear on the third-team units while safety Sean Mahone was a fourth team selection. Wright also made the fourth team as a kickoff returner.

Wright is the team’s leading receiver in 2020, finishing with 47 catches, 553 yards and two touchdowns. Chandler-Semedo was named the Liberty Bowl defensive MVP and finished third on the team in tackles last year with 64.
