It feels like forever since the Penguins have won anything, so hey, here’s some positivity. Congrats to Jared McCann for winning the NHL Fan Choice Award for “Most Innovative Workout”.
And with 45.2% percent of the vote, @jaredmccann19 and his cow-weight win the #NHLFanChoice Award for "Most Innovative Workout"!

We're udderly impressed! https://t.co/lrvicOgra7
Everyone was looking for innovative ways to workout and stay in shape during the lockout (the video is from April of 2020), and all the good old boys know that everything is better with some cows around, so why not do some squats with a calf to keep the core and back and legs firing when you find yourself back on the farm in the middle of a pandemic?
This might be the only award winner associated with the Pens, the Masterton and King Clancy awards have already been announced and Mike Sullivan was snubbed as a finalist for the Jack Adams award for coach of the year. The NHL isn’t having the typical year-end award ceremony in Vegas this summer and instead slowly announcing awards.
Sidney Crosby is a finalist for the Ted Lindsay award, which will be announced during the Stanley Cup Final later on. That award looks like Connor McDavid’s to lose, but McDavid wasn’t using a baby cow as a free weight, so we’ll just have to take what we can get this year.
