Twenty One Pilots Delay Release Of New Album 'Clancy'

Twenty One Pilots Delay Release Of New Album 'Clancy'

Twenty One Pilots have announced they are delaying the release of their new record Clancy, as they plan to make music videos for every track on the album.

The duo had originally planned to release the 13-track record on May 17 via Fueled By Ramen.

A video posted to Tyler Joseph's social media account says the release data has been moved to May 24.

"When I first told Josh and Mark and everyone on our team that I wanted to do a music video for every song on the album 'Clancy' that's coming out, I told them it's because I love these songs and I believe in them enough to pretend to sing in front of a camera for each one," Joseph said.

He added, "But in order to accomplish that, we need a little bit more time, that's why I'm making this video. We're going to push the album back by one week to May 24. Isn't that exciting! Just a little more time."

The duo first announced their intention to record visuals for every track on the record back in March. Joseph revealed at the time that they had already completed work on eight of the music video, with seven more in the pipeline. The musician confirmed that the two extra videos come from them re-shooting one that was already finished and that one of the songs will have "two versions".

Clancy, which marks the sixth LP from the Columbus duo, is a follow up to their 2021 record Scaled and Icy.

Pink Floyd's David Gilmour Announces New Solo Album 'Luck And Strange'

Pink Floyd's David Gilmour Announces New Solo Album 'Luck And Strange'

Pink Floyd's David Gilmour has announced that his new album, Luck and Strange, will be released on September 6 on Sony Music.

Luck and Strange was recorded over five months in Brighton and London and is Gilmour's first album of new material in nine years. The record was produced by Gilmour and Charlie Andrew.

Of this new working relationship, Gilmour says, "We invited Charlie to the house, so he came and listened to some demos, and said things like, 'Well, why does there have to be a guitar solo there?' and 'Do they all fade out? Can't some of them just end?'"

"He has a wonderful lack of knowledge or respect for this past of mine," the Pink Floyd guitarist added. "He's very direct and not in any way overawed, and I love that. That is just so good for me because the last thing you want is people just deferring to you".

The majority of the album's lyrics have been composed by Polly Samson, Gilmour's co-writer and collaborator for the past thirty years.

Samson says of the lyrical themes covered on Luck and Strange, "It's written from the point of view of being older; mortality is the constant."

Gilmour elaborates, "We spent a load of time during and after lockdown talking about and thinking about those kind of things."

Samson also found the experience of working with Charlie Andrew liberating, saying, "He wants to know what the songs are about, he wants everyone who's playing on them to have the ideas that are in the lyric informing their playing. I have particularly loved it for that reason".

The album features eight new tracks along with a beautiful reworking of The Montgolfier Brothers' "Between Two Points" and has artwork and photography by the renowned artist Anton Corbijn.

Musicians contributing to the record include Guy Pratt and Tom Herbert on bass, Adam Betts, Steve Gadd and Steve DiStanislao on drums, Rob Gentry and Roger Eno on keyboards, with string and choral arrangements by Will Gardner. The title track also features the late Pink Floyd keyboard player Richard Wright.

Luck and Strange is available in LP, CD, Blu-Ray & Digital For Pre-Order at https://davidgilmour.lnk.to/LuckandStrange

Gilmour also shared the track "The Piper's Call" from the upcoming album.

Dave Grohl Teams Up With Anthrax Members On Bad Brains Cover

Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl has teamed up with Anthrax members Charlie Benante and Scott Ian for a cover of the Bad Brains song "The Regulator."

The single was released on Record Store Day, April 20th, as a vinyl release. The seven-inch single, limited to 6,000 copies, comes complete with cover art by Benante.

Upon the initial announcement of the single, Ian revealed the story behind the collaboration, saying, "Anthrax were recording our new album at [Grohl's] 606 [studio] and the Foo's were there rehearsing at the same time. Dave had popped into the studio to hang and listen to what we were doing and we'd gone over to hear the Foo's rehearse. I texted Dave the next morning and said: 'Hey! Good to see ya the other day. Are you rehearsing today? I'll be there doing guitars. Wanna record a Minor Threat song? Bad Brains?' He replied immediately with the Spotify link for 'The Regulator.' I said I'd be there at 12:30pm and he said, 'See you at 1.' It was that simple."

He continued, "We recorded at 606. Charlie and I asked Dave if he'd play drums and sing as well, he was in. Charlie plays bass and I'm on guitar. Charlie did the badass art for the cover. GBI!"

Proceeds from the single benefit legendary Bad Brains singer H.R., who is suffering from SUNCT Syndrome, which causes cycles of intense headaches that make it impossible for him to perform.

Green Day's 'Dilemma' Reaches No. 1 On Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay Chart

Green Day's "Dilemma" has reached No. 1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay Chart dated April 27, marking the rock band's ninth chart topper.

"Dilemma," a song from Green Day's fourteenth studio album Saviors, was released in December. The single has been described musically as punk rock and pop-punk.

Green Day co-founder and lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong said "Dilemma" was "one of those songs that was kind of easy to write because it was so personal to me. We've seen so many of our peers struggle with addiction and mental illness. This song is all about the pain that comes from those experiences."

The song also remains at No. 1 on the Rock & Alternative Airplay chart for a fourth week and retained its second rank on the Alternative Airplay chart.

"The band told me that their song 'Hard Times' was inspired by Talking Heads, so I learned it and recorded my version of their great song with a horn section. This was fun!" Staind Share New Version Of 'Better Days' Featuring Dorothy

Staind recently shared a new version of their song "Better Days' featuring Dorothy.

The original version of the track appears on the multi-platinum-selling rock band's album, Confessions of the Fallen, released in September 2023.

Dorothy Martin, the lead singer of the band Dorothy, performs the new version of the song with Staind lead singer and rhythm guitarist Aaron Lewis.

Speaking about the collaboration with Dorothy, Lewis said it was a departure for him.

"It's really the first time Staind explored a feature with a female guest vocalist. Once we started tracking I could tell the synergy was there," he said. "We didn't have to pick harmonies, we didn't have to analyze parts, they just happened. I'm stoked to have Dorothy on this single with me. Her talent and voice are incredible."

According to Dorothy, she had "a great time tracking 'Better Days.'"

"It's a beautiful song and I hope fans connect with it," she added. "I'm so grateful to Aaron for the opportunity."

"Lowest In Me," another track from the album, topped Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay chart.

New 'Behind The Music' Episodes To Profile Bell Biv DeVoe, Trace Adkins & Wolfgang Van Halen

New 'Behind The Music' Episodes To Profile Bell Biv DeVoe, Trace Adkins & Wolfgang Van Halen

Paramount+ has announced new episodes of the groundbreaking docuseries '"Behind The Music" will premiere exclusively on the service in the U.S. and Canada on May 1 and in the U.K., Australia, Latin America, Brazil, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria on May 2.

The new episodes profile Bell Biv DeVoe, Trace Adkins and Wolfgang Van Halen, while remastered episodes feature 50 Cent, Bobby Brown, Ice-T, Milli Vanilli, The Notorious B.I.G. and Sinead O'Connor.

Official loglines for new episodes are as follows:

When New Edition dissolved in the late '80s, Ronnie DeVoe, Ricky Bell and Michael Bivins were counted out by critics and record executives. However, they defied expectations and became a multi-platinum group with their album Poison. The trio created some of the greatest party anthems of the 1990s, but infighting, financial pitfalls, addiction and mental health struggles almost led to the group's demise. Four decades later, Bell Biv DeVoe still is performing for multiple generations of adoring global fans.

Despite a near-fatal shooting, Trace Adkins worked his way to the top of the country music charts with his platinum-selling debut album Dreamin' Out Loud. But a sophomore slump and a struggle with alcoholism nearly destroyed his career. With help from family, musicians and mentors alike, Trace pushed forward with even more hits, a flourishing acting career and a new lease on life. Wolfgang Van Halen reveals his story that's wrought with trauma, perseverance and immense talent. Born to guitar god Eddie Van Halen and actress Valerie Bertinelli, Wolfgang instantly became bound to music. As he developed his own sound, Wolfgang turned to his solo project, Mammoth WVH, before tragedy struck. Eddie's death rocked his son's world, but Wolfgang solidified his music career with a sound all of his own while continuing to honor his father's legacy.

These artists join the star-studded lineup of original "Behind The Music" episodes on Paramount+, featuring Boy George, Bret Michaels, Busta Rhymes, Duran Duran, Jennifer Lopez, LL Cool J, New Kids on the Block, Remy Ma and Ricky Martin.

The docuseries is executive produced by Bruce Gillmer and Michael Maniaci for MTV Entertainment Studios.

Pearl Jam Share 'Wreckage' From New Album 'Dark Matter'

Pearl Jam Share 'Wreckage' From New Album 'Dark Matter'

Pearl Jam recently released "Wreckage," the latest song from their new album Dark Matter.

Dark Matter, Pearl Jam's 12th studio album, dropped on Friday, April 19th via Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records. Dark Matter marks the band's first release since critically acclaimed Gigaton in 2020.

"That one probably has the biggest build for me personally, in terms of hearing it at first and thinking, it's kind of an Ed song," Stone Gossard shares. "I wasn't quite aware of its potency until later. Andrew [Watt] encouraged me to play this little harmonic, acoustic part almost like a Cure melody. I've been playing along with the song to relearn it and I'm really looking forward to playing it live. It's a really powerful lyric and I think we did a really great job of taking something and really pushing it to its limit."

"['Wreckage'] started with the riff and everyone kind of formulating sections together," adds producer Andrew Watt. "That song just came to Ed right away. Within the first couple takes before the music was even right, his vocals were right. His melodies and words are so strong in that song. Once the initial spark was there and there were a few sections, it was just really about following him."

The band also celebrated indie record stores with the release of a special edition of the project on April 20th for Record Store Day.
