On Friday (August 29), Alabama Shakes released “Another Life,” their first new single in over a decade. The track also marks the debut release from their new label, Island Records, and signals the forthcoming arrival of their long-awaited third studio album. “Another Life” was recorded at Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville, with the band producing the song along with their longtime collaborator, Shawn Everett. “When I wrote ‘Another Life,’ I was thinking about all the lives we carry,“ singer Brittany Howard said in a press release. “A collective story that never stops unfolding. I’m glad we opened this door into this reality of us making music together again.” The release coincides with the band’s reunion tour across North America, which starts back up again on September 4 in Milwaukee, and includes a series of headlining dates and music festival appearances throughout September, before concluding in Mexico City on November 15.
