On Tuesday (September 16), Foo Fighters officially introduced new drummer Ilan Rubin with a humorous AI-generated video titled, “Keeping It Real.” The minute-long clip features the distorted images of the band members – including a 10-armed version of Rubin pounding away at a huge drum kit – discussing their return to the stage and the studio, with fake Dave Grohl cheekily emphasizing the “100 per cent real, raw, human element” of their music. The band made their live comeback with two intimate shows in California on September 13 and 15, marking Rubin’s first performances with the group following the departure of ex-drummer Josh Freese.
