On Monday (November 17), Disney+ released a new two-and-a-half minute trailer for the restored and expanded version of The Beatles Anthology, an eight-part documentary series that originally aired in 1995 which chronicles the band’s formation, rise to fame, and cultural impact. The first three episodes of the refreshed series will premiere on Disney+ on November 26, with three new episodes rolling out over the following two days (Nov. 27-28). The docuseries now includes a ninth episode featuring previously unreleased footage of Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr during the creation of the original project. Enhanced with new restorations and sound mixing overseen by Apple Corps and Peter Jackson’s team, the documentary offers archival interviews with the band members, while highlighting landmark moments like their iconic Ed Sullivan Show appearance and famed Shea Stadium concerts. It also captures the 1995 reunion sessions that produced the surviving member’s Grammy-winning collaboration on a John Lennon demo, “Free as a Bird,” marking the first new Beatles song since their 1970 breakup.
