Gibson and Epiphone have unveiled two new models of Noel Gallagher signature guitars – the singer, songwriter and guitarist’s beloved 1960 Gibson ES-355 guitar and the Epiphone Riviera used during the mid-Nineties.
Only 200 units of the premium limited-edition ES-355 guitars are available at the Gibson Custom Shop. The guitar is priced at $9,999 on the Gibson online store.
“F**k me, what a Guitar!” Gallagher says of the 1960 Gibson ES-355. “I’ve actually sent my main one back to storage, something I haven’t done since the day I bought it. THAT’S how good it is.”
Gallagher purchased a 1960 Gibson ES-355 in 1997 and has used it for several recordings and live shows. Aged by the Murphy Lab, the guitar includes a multi-ply bound maple body, a mahogany neck and ebony fretboard, a Varitone switch, and a Bigsby B7 vibrato tailpiece.
The Noel Gallagher Riviera Epiphone guitar in Dark Wine Red is based on Gallagher’s original 1983 Riviera. Epiphone says it was granted access to the original guitar still in the artist’s collection, and it helped the manufacturer include many historical elements with this new model. The color and finish are a close match to original models from that era.
The Epiphone guitar costs $899 and is available via epiphone.com.
