Green Day Cancel Moscow Concert Over Russian Invasion Of Ukraine

Green Day have called off their upcoming concert in Moscow in the wake of Russia’s attack of Ukraine.

“With heavy hearts, in light of current events we feel it is necessary to cancel our upcoming show in Moscow at Spartak Stadium,” Green Day announced on Instagram, referring to their performance scheduled for May 29.

“We are aware that this moment is not about stadium rock shows, it’s much bigger than that,” the band added. “But we also know that rock and roll is forever and we feel confident there will be a time and a place for us to return in the future. Refunds available at the point of purchase. Stay safe.”

Green Day is set to play the European dates of their Hella Mega Tour in June, but the itinerary has been removed from their website.

AJR last week cancelled their Moscow concert, set for October, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
