Yungblud recently dropped a new pop-rock song titled “Don’t Feel Like Feeling Sad Today,” the latest single from his forthcoming self-titled album.
Yungblud drops on September 2 via Locomotion/Geffen Records. “Don’t Feel Like Feeling Sad Today” is the third preview of the upcoming album following the release of “The Funeral” in March and “Memories” featuring Willow in May.
“I wrote these words to help me stand up. To me, this song is what happiness feels like. Happiness with a bite. A defiant sort of happiness,” Yungblud says in a statement about the song. “Looking at yourself in the mirror and telling the sadness to f–k off and come back another day.”
He added, “I wanted this song to be a little part of someone’s day. No matter what they’re going through, they can put this on and feel a bit stronger today. That’s the vision; that’s the dream.”
The song is also accompanied by a music video, in which Yungblud, who was born Dominic Harrison, and his band perform in the middle of a crowded city street while there are being blasted by water guns.
